The Amendment Act Of The United States - 1030 Words
While there are many amendments to the U.S. Constitution that have impacted our society and nation, I believe that the 19th amendment to the Constitution is one of the most important events in our history. The 19th amendment states, ââ¬Å"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.â⬠(1) There are several reasons why I find this amendment to be important, and I will discuss each point. Women have been fighting in our armed forces since the civil war. Women helped colonize the United States. Women are the backbone of our society. The first thing that I would like to discuss is the actual amendment and the timeline. I found it fascinating thatâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬Å"On November 11, 1865, President Johnson signed a bill to present Dr. Mary Edwards Walker with the Congressional Medal of Honor for Meritorious Service, in order to recognize her contributions to the war effort without awarding her an army commission. She was the only woman ever to receive the Medal of Honor, her country s highest military award.â⬠(3) Dr. Edward is just one example of millions of women who have volunteered and sacrificed their time, family and sometimes their lives. Since that time in some fashion women have helped defend the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Even taking on these responsibilities they were denied the right to vote. Another military example would be women Drill Sergeants. Drill Sergeants are considered the most elite soldiers in the military. How would you assess the Bucks season this far? Itââ¬â¢s been a roller coaster season for us so far, weââ¬â¢ll go on these four-game win streaks, then lose two or three in a row, weââ¬â¢re just having a problem with staying consistent now, weââ¬â¢re heading in the right direction, weââ¬â¢re learning we just have to be more consistent on a game-to-game basis. What do you think would help improve the consistency of the team? Were Just growing up, weââ¬â¢re all still young, Iââ¬â¢m just 26 in my sixth season in the league, but our main guy Giannias just turned 23 so weââ¬â¢re going to be inconsistent at times trying to figure out how to develop great habits every day, itââ¬â¢s just a process weââ¬â¢re going through right now. I think it is If you look at the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavalries, two of the best teams in the league, their best line up is when LeBron James, and Draymond Green are playing center, so the NBA is definitely trending that way. Did you ever imagine that this style of play would take over the league? It was hard for me to see at first but you can see itââ¬â¢s working, the bigs are coming three point shooters instead of low post scorers, but I this itââ¬â¢s a great thing for the League itââ¬â¢s more exciting to watch so Iââ¬â¢m a fan of it. Do you think the NBA will ever go back to having their bigs play with their back to the basket as opposed to facing the basket? I think it could when you see how dominate Joel Embiid is I think eventually itââ¬â¢ll trend back there. The NBA is full of young players, what do you think about Ben Simmons and the way heââ¬â¢s developed? I think heââ¬â¢s a great player, unfortunately, last year he was hurt so he had to sit out, he used that as a redshirt year where he can sit back and watch the NBA, how he can affect the game, and how he can fit in with his team. Tok Comment on History free essay sample
The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history G. W. F. Hegel, 1770-1831. History of the world Is the memory of the past experiences that certain people have had. These experiences have been preserved so that people In the future could study and read about them and what they had done. Historians recover the knowledge of the events that happened in the past. In these places writing was not existent and also drawings. Such history could have been produced in many ways. This quotes by G. W. F. Hegel The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history. The reason for this quote is that us as human if we do not know what has happened in the past how would we know how to continue it. For example, the American Revolution. The British considered the Thirteenth Colonies nothing more than another territory of theirs but this territory was already covered by America. We will write a custom essay sample on Tok Comment on History or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page King George of Britain wanted the bigger half of the countries wealth. The American people had had enough and when 8 of their volunteers who were eddy to go to war If a soldier had been killed were killed, so America declared war.One year later, at a congress signing Benjamin Franklin said that now, gentlemen, if we dont hang together, well hang separately. With the aid of George Washington they won the war. If the American Revolution never happened then there would be no America which in turn would mean that the whole entire world would have suffered in politics, economics and also social speaking. The taxes that were in America at the time, brought a great sensation of unkindness to the British. If the evolution had not happened then the American people would have more conflict between them and Britain. The main reason/ significance for this American Revolution Is that It led to other revolutions such as the Haitian Revolution and also the French Revolution. In conclusion, this quote by a great man is reliable because as the American Revolution happened it brought no new perspective to how we should live our lives. This truly means that we have learned nothing history. There might be some people in the world who have learned not to do the bad things that happened but certain people Just continue it. Like the First World War, it was a bad thing as it also led too Second World War. The American Revolution might have been a good thing in some sense because the people fought for their freedom but in the other sense they also dead for it which is bad. I my personal opinion, I think that the American Revolution was both good and bad; good because they fought for their freedom but bad because people had to die for it and this gave Inspiration to other nations to start a revolution. Thus we have learned nothing from history.Took Comment on History By Ship-owners 1 History of the world is the memory of the past experiences that certain people have had. The team also makes use of both learner analysis and content analysis. More emphasis is put on online learning and giving students some grids to work with, that way they donââ¬â¢t have to run to places to take notes in a lecture. The interface and rubric is not designed based solely on innovation, it is based on instruction design, best practices and research findings. The input they need to evaluate the course include (but are not limited to) atomization of the course and navigation of the course. Sometime ago, with the approval of The U.S. Dept. of Education, state authorization was not given to distance learning programs, the idea was to uphold integrity regulation, and not to promote diploma mills. There is no place for judgement in accounting it's simply mathematics Essay
There is no place for judgement in accounting it's simply mathematics and a precise subject. Explore the above statement - Essay Example The existing conceptual framework has proven to be extremely helpful to the IASB while trying to improve the financial reporting standards (IFRS, 2013a). The framework is a key parameter that defines the underlying concepts of transparent and relevant preparation of financial statements (AASB, 2010). It must be understood that the Conceptual framework in no way represents the IFRS and therefore the framework does not state accounting requirements for any particular disclosure issue or measurement (IFRS, 2013b). Nothing that is outlined in the conceptual framework supersedes any specific IFRS. However, in certain cases issues covered under the IFRS have conflicted with the conceptual framework. As such, in those cases the IFRS supersedes the conceptual framework as it is a globally accepted standard (BDO international, 2010). The conceptual framework plays a crucial role in the presentation and preparation of high quality financial reports in order to satisfy the needs of their users (Working Group on Fundamental Concepts, 2004). The primary objectives of the conceptual framework are to assist the IASB in order to help them to develop the future international accounting standards. ... Approach The statement, ââ¬Å"There is no place for judgement in accounting itââ¬â¢s simply mathematics and a precise subjectâ⬠, is highly debatable. In order to evaluate the statement, its needs to be interpreted from the perspective of principle vs. rule based accounting theory as well as the theory of conceptual framework. Thereafter, the statement has to be evaluated on the basis of the relevance of professional judgements in the field of accounting. What is professional judgement? According to Lakovic and Fuglister (2013), professional judgement refers to a process that is used by accounting officials in order to apply them to accounting standards while preparing financial reports. Accounting procedures involves rigorous application of judgements as they help accountants to analyse and select the right methods and models in financial reporting (Xiling, 2010). Principle vs. Rule based accounting A major controversy still prevails in the field of accounting as to which ac counting standard allows the optimal use of judgement and results in optimal fair representation and comparability. FASB has always been more inclined towards the adoption of rules based accounting whereas IASB has tended more toward a principles-based approach. Currently, FASB and IASB are in the process of amalgamating their accounting standards into a common one. In such context the debate regarding the accounting approach becomes even stronger than ever before and henceforth the relevance of judgement. However, the fact that rule based accounting have eroded judgements in some cases and failed in representing the economic substance faithfully, US professional leaders have admitted to the
